Sector Specialisation
Health and Medical
Our track record speaks for itself: years of repeat business with some of the most prestigious organisations in the field. We are extremely proud of our expertise in this area and have set ourselves the goal of becoming Australia’s undisputed leader in health and medical construction.
Our most recent projects include:
Wolper Jewish Hospital, Woollahra (2010)
$10 million
This project included major structural modifications as well as a total refurbishment of wards and facilities over four floors. We refurbished 54 beds and ensuites, installed 15 new bathrooms and modified staff and consulting areas. We also upgraded the building’s services and constructed a new hydrotherapy pool within the former ground floor car park. At the same time the hospital’s major services, from electrical and gases to nurse call, were all upgraded or replaced. Despite the extensive and complex nature of this work, we were able to keep the hospital working while our schedule was implemented according to plan.
Lawrence Hargrave Hospital Thirroul
(Ramsay Health Care Group) (2009)
$7 million
Refurbishment of the existing rehabilitation hospital, including the construction of two new wings, holding 40 rooms and 43 bathrooms. The facilities remained operational while these works were carried out. Delivered on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
Strathfield Private Hospital (2006)
$5 million
Another project for Ramsay, this work—over four stages—refurbished various wards, public areas, offices and corridors as well as 46 refurbished beds and 41 ensuites and adding 7 new beds. The project also including cardiac and intensive care units, construction of a cafeteria, a new conference facility and consultation areas. Like many of our hospital projects, we were required to work effectively around the daily operations of the hospital.
Garvan Institute of Medical Research (2008)
$5 million
Over the last couple of years we have undertaken a series of projects for the Garvan. Typically these projects were refurbishments: sometimes entire floors to accommodate growing staff numbers; sometimes smaller projects like upgrading a cafeteria; all while vital and sensitive research work continued. Across all these projects we have consistently made recommendations that have reduced cost, improved functionality, made the building more efficient, or resulted in faster delivery. Winner of MBA Merit Award - Interior Fitouts up to $5 million.
Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Research
Institute (2009)
$4 million
The construction of new laboratories, animal testing facilities, offices, workspaces and a loading dock was central to this project. All works, including the construction of a two-storey extension, were undertaken adjacent to live research facilities. Meticulous planning to provide temporary staging spaces allowed the project to be delivered smoothly. This project is the most recent work we have undertaken for the Institute. Over the last three years we have provided a range of services: from new construction and services changes to relocations and maintenance.

Medical Centres
We cut our teeth in the health and medical field building medical centres. In the last five or six years we have undertaken more than 15 such projects. From relatively small sites to landmark centres such as the Darlinghurst and Bondi Junction centres, valued at $7 million and $6 million respectively. These large centres also included specialist facilities like x-ray and CT scan rooms.
